1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StoryBuddy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to create an account.

2. Service Description

StoryBuddy is an AI-powered platform that generates personalized bedtime stories for children. The Service includes story generation, voice narration, illustrations, gamification features, and related functionality. Stories are generated using artificial intelligence and may vary in content and quality.

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, subscription restrictions, or security measures
  • Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate for children
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account

5. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Some features require a paid subscription, billed monthly or annually
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe; we do not store payment card details
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the billing period
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact support for refund requests
  • Prices may change with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions are honored until renewal

6. Content Ownership

Stories generated through StoryBuddy are created using AI technology. You retain the right to use, share, and export stories generated for your account for personal, non-commercial purposes. StoryBuddy retains the right to use anonymized and aggregated data to improve the Service. You may not resell or commercially distribute AI-generated stories without permission.

7. Children's Data

By creating a child profile, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child and that you consent to the collection and use of the child's information as described in our Privacy Policy. You may review, modify, or delete your child's data at any time.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that AI-generated stories will be error-free, perfectly age-appropriate, or meet specific educational standards. Parents and guardians should review generated content before sharing with children.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryBuddy and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
